The Department of Wireless Systems is located at Faculty 1 of the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg and is headed by Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Peter Langendörfer.
The group deals with the design, development and analysis of secure, resilient and efficient wireless and cyber-physical systems. The focus is on networked systems that must function reliably under dynamic, resource-limited or safety-critical conditions. The research work of the department combines methodological foundations with application-oriented questions. In particular, the interactions between communication, security, reliability, energy efficiency and resilience are considered
The following positions are available in the Department of Wireless Systems at the Faculty of STEM – Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering and Information Technology:
2 academic staff member (m/f/d)
Your area of responsibility includes in particular:
Teaching:
- Participation in the fulfilment of the teaching tasks of the department according to content and methodological specifications, currently for the degree programmes Computer Science, Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence, to impart specialist knowledge, practical skills and to instruct in the application of scientific methods
- Preparation, implementation and follow-up/evaluation of exercises and internships
- Collaboration in the preparation of lectures and seminars as well as other related administrative Responsibilities
- Development/updating of teaching materials, aids and collections of tasks
- Preparation, implementation and evaluation of oral and written examinations
- Participation in the supervision of student theses and theses
Resarch work:
- Scientific work within the framework of the research focus of the department
- Participation in the preparation and implementation of third-party funded projects (BMFTR, DFG, industrial projects)
- Lectures and publications on the subject of research, preparation of contributions for reports and presentations
- including his own in-depth scientific work in preparation for a doctorate or for the provision of additional
- scientific achievements amounting to at least one third of the respective working time on one of the following research topics:
- Optimization of complex cyber-physical systems from systems with regard to IT security, energy consumption, Distribution of tasks, etc., e.g. using quantum computer-based approaches
- Predict changes in the transmission quality of the network and the Investigation and implementation of proactive countermeasures, e.g. with the help of artificial intelligence methods
- Other research-related administrative tasks
Your requirements profile:
- Completed scientific university degree (Master's degree/university diploma/equivalent) in a subject relevant to the job (computer science, mathematics, electrical engineering, physics or comparable)
The following knowledge is required:
- Knowledge and experience in programming or mathematical modeling, e.g. with Python or MatLab
- Very good knowledge of German and English, both written and spoken

- Strong ability to work scientifically and to present, discuss and evaluate the results scientifically,
- Independence, flexibility, communication skills, high ability to work in a team, goal-oriented and structured way of working,
