We are a young, up-and-coming technical university in the heart of Lusatia, which uses scientific expertise to develop practical solutions for shaping the major issues of the future and transformation processes worldwide.
The field of aero engine design deals with safety aspects and their structural implementation in future hybrid-electric drive solutions in research and teaching, among other things.
Hybrid-electric and battery-electric propulsion technologies offer the possibility of partially or completely replacing fossil fuels in regional aviation, thus actively contributing to climate neutrality. These new propulsion systems must meet the strict requirements of the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) to ensure safe operation. The significantly higher system complexity and the use of new generative manufacturing technologies (3D printing) give rise to new potential faults, the consequences of which must be researched and whose mitigation or elimination require creative solutions in design and manufacturing.
The work is being carried out as part of the LuFo joint project ‘Metaverse technology implementation of hybrid-electric drives with cross-lifecycle digital twins’. The project is integrated into the ‘Center for Hybrid Electric Systems Cottbus (chesco)’.
The following position is available in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Energy Systems in the field of aircraft engine design as part of a third-party funded project.
