As we continue our expansion in the Asia-Pacific region, we are looking for a dynamic and results-driven professional to spearhead our growth in the Japanese market. We are seeking a seasoned Business Development Manager (m/f/d) to build and lead our market presence in Japan. This is a high-impact role for a strategic individual who can identify new business opportunities, build strong relationships with key players in the logistics sector, and close deals with enterprise-level clients. You will be the face of our company in Japan, responsible for developing and executing a go-to-market strategy from the ground up.
THE TASKS - You make a difference
- Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to establish a strong market foothold in Japan.
- Identify, qualify, and secure new enterprise clients, including logistics providers, freight forwarders, manufacturers, and e-commerce companies.
- Build and nurture strong, long-term relationships with C-level executives, key decision-makers, and industry influencers.
- Manage the entire sales cycle from prospecting and initial contact to negotiation, contract signing, and handover to the implementation team.
- Serve as the expert on the Japanese logistics software market, providing insights on competition, customer needs, and regulatory trends.
- Work closely with our marketing, product, and technical teams in the HQ to align strategies and represent the voice of the Japanese customer.
THE REQUIREMENTS - What makes you successful
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field; MBA is a plus.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in business development or sales, specifically within the B2B software/SaaS industry.
- Proven experience and a strong network within the Japanese logistics, supply chain, or transportation industry is highly preferred.
- Native-level Japanese and business-fluent English are essential.
- Demonstrable experience in building a territory from scratch or significantly expanding market share.
- Strong understanding of software sales cycles and value-based selling methodologies.
