An der H****ochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln ist am Hochschulstandort Köln im
Fachbereich 7/Zentrum für Zeitgenössischen Tanz
zum Sommersemester 2027
eine 50% W2-Professur für zeitgenössische tanzkünstlerische Praxis (m/w/d)
zu besetzen.
Gesucht wird eine renommierte tanzkünstlerische Persönlichkeit mit ausgewiesener Expertise in zeitgenössischer Tanztechnik, die diese in der Lehre methodisch vielfältig vermitteln kann.
Der Aufgabenbereichumfasst auch das Mitwirken an der Weiterentwicklung und Gestaltung der Studien- und Forschungsprofile und des Curriculums für den BA Tanz in den beiden Schwerpunkten Performative Praxis und Tanzvermittlung entsprechend des Profils des ZZT. Darüber hinaus ist die Vernetzung des Bereiches BA Tanz mit dem künstlerischen professionellen Feld zu fördern sowie Studierendenprojekte und Abschlussarbeiten zu betreuen.
Erwartet werden:
- Studienabschluss im Bereich Tanz bzw. eine der Aufgabe entsprechende, abgeschlossene inländische oder gleichwertige ausländische Hochschulausbildung bzw. gleich zu bewertende künstlerische Leistungen
- vielfältige Methodenkompetenz in Bezug auf zeitgenössische Tanztechniken
- anerkannte eigene tanzkünstlerische Praxis, insbesondere ausgewiesene Erfahrung in der Bühnenpraxis
- kommunikative und organisatorische Kompetenzen
- einschlägige Lehrerfahrung an einer Hochschule bzw. auf Hochschulniveau
- deutliche Affinität zur Reflexion der eigenen Praxis
- die Bereitschaft, an Prüfungen und bei der Weiterentwicklung von Studiengängen bzw. Lehrkonzepten aktiv mitzuwirken, sowie zur interdisziplinären Zusammenarbeit
- die Bereitschaft, in den Gremien der akademischen Selbstverwaltung aktiv mitzuwirken und ggf. administrative und/oder Leitungsaufgaben zu übernehmen
- die regelmäßige Präsenz an der Hochschule
- die Bereitschaft, am künstlerischen Leben der Hochschule aktiv teilzunehmen
- Bereitschaft zur produktiven Zusammenarbeit mit Korrepetitor:innen im Unterrichtskontext
- gute Englischkenntnisse
- gute Deutschkenntnisse bzw. die Bereitschaft diese innerhalb von 2 Jahren zu erwerben
Die Vorstellungen werden vorraussichtlich in der Woche des 09.11.2026 stattfinden.
Die Einstellungsvoraussetzungen ergeben sich aus § 29 des Gesetzes über die Kunsthochschulen des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen. Die Beschäftigung erfolgt in einem privatrechtlichen Dienstverhältnis mit einer Befristung von zunächst zwei Jahren.

The Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln is looking to fill the position of a
50% Professorship in Contemporary Dance Artistic Practice (Pay Scale W2)
at the Cologne University Campus, department 7/ CCD (Centre for Contemporary Dance) from summer semester 2027.
We are seeking a renowned dance-artistic personality who is able to impart contemporary dance-technical expertise in terms of diversity of methods in teaching.
The area of responsibility also includes participation in the further development and design of the study and research profiles and the curriculum for the BA Dance in both specializations (Performative Practice and Dance Mediation) in accordance with the profile of the CCD (Center for Contemporary Dance). Tasks also include promoting the networking of the BA Dance course with the professional field and coordinating as well as supervising student projects and theses.
Our requirements:
• Degree in the field of dance or an equivalent foreign university education or artistic achievements of equal value corresponding to the task
• diverse methodological competence in relation to dance techniques
• recognized individual dance artistic practice, in particular accomplishments and experience on stage
• outstanding communicative and organizational skills
• relevant teaching experience at a university or at university level
• a clear affinity for reflecting one’s own dance practice
• the willingness to actively participate in examinations and in the further development of study programs and teaching concepts as well as in interdisciplinary cooperation
• the willingness to actively participate in academic self-administration committees and, if necessary, to take on administrative and/or
management tasks
• regular presence at the university
• the willingness to actively participate in the artistic life of the university
• the willingness to collaborate effectively with accompanists in a classroom setting
• a good command of English
• good knowledge of German or the willingness to acquire this within 2 years
The on campus interviews and teaching demonstrations are expected to take place during the week of November 9, 2026.
