Description

The professorship shown above is to be filled at the earliest possible date in in the Study Courses of Therapeutic Sciences in the Department of Computer Science at the Main Campus in Trier.

Tasks

Since the winter term 2014/2015, the Department of Computer Science within the Study Courses of Therapeutic Sciences has been offering the Bachelor’s degree programs in Physiotherapy (dual), Speech and Language Therapy (dual), and Occupational Therapy (dual).

The future position holder is expected to represent the field of Occupational Therapy in teaching and applied research, and additionally in existing and future degree programs within the department. The position also requires a willingness to contribute to the further development of the Occupational Therapy program and to the design and implementation of innovative teaching and learning formats that strengthen the transfer between science and practice. In addition, active participation in interdisciplinary projects at the interface between Occupational Therapy and Speech and Language Therapy, Physiotherapy, and Computer Science is expected.

Courses are to be offered in German and if required also in English.

In addition to a strong commitment to teaching, active participation in the university’s academic self-governance is expected.

The state of Rhineland-Palatinate and Trier University of Applied Sciences support a supervision model that requires a high level of faculty presence at the university.

Recruitment requirements

For this professorship, we are looking for a committed person with a university degree in occupational therapy, therapeutic sciences, health sciences or a related field and a professional licence as an occupational therapist valid in Germany or abroad. We expect exceptional achievements in the application or development of scientific knowledge and methods in occupational therapy and occupational science, as well as in at least two of the following subject areas:

  • Occupational therapy focused on everyday-life contexts, occupation, and participation, including evaluation and outcome measurement
  • Professionalisation of occupational therapy in research, teaching, or practice
  • Participatory research approaches in occupational therapy
  • Development and evaluation of innovative occupational therapy fields of practice and interventions
  • Digital applications, e-health, and health technologies in occupational therapy

German language skills at least at C1 level are required, as well as very good English language skills in order to conduct courses in English if required.

All other appointment requirements are outlined in § 49 of the Higher Education Act of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate.

The employment takes place within a privat law employment relationship.
