An unserer Theologischen Fakultät am Lehrstuhl für Kirchenrecht und Kirchliche Rechtsgeschichte ist zum 1. September 2026 eine Teilzeitstelle (75%) als

wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter (m/w/d)

befristet für die Dauer von zunächst drei Jahren zu besetzen. Eine anschließende Weiterbeschäftigung wird angestrebt. Dienstort ist Eichstätt. Die Bezahlung erfolgt im Rahmen des privatrechtlichen Arbeitsverhältnisses bei gegebenen tariflichen Voraussetzungen nach Entgeltgruppe 13 TV-L.

Die Möglichkeit zur Promotion ist gegeben und wird ausdrücklich gewünscht.

Ihre Aufgaben

• Mitwirkung in der Forschung, insbesondere in den Bereichen kanonisches Sendungs- und Sanktionsrecht, Ordensrecht sowie kirchliches Hochschulrecht
• Mitwirkung in der Lehre (3,75 LVS Lehrverpflichtung) im Studiengang Magister Theologiae sowie in anderen Studiengängen, in denen das Fach Kirchenrecht und Kirchliche Rechtsgeschichte vertreten ist
• Mitwirkung an den Organisations- und Prüfungsaufgaben des Lehrstuhls, Unterstützung bei Tagungen, Exkursionen und Publikationen

Ihr Profil

• ein abgeschlossenes Hochschulstudium in Katholischer Theologie (Magister Theologiae oder gleichwertig), idealerweise zusätzlich ein Aufbaustudium Lizentiat im kanonischen Recht
• gute Latein- und Englischkenntnisse sind Voraussetzung, weitere Fremdsprachenkenntnisse sind erwünscht
• Interesse an kirchenrechtlichen und kirchenrechtsgeschichtlichen Fragestellen sowie an deren zeitgemäßer Vermittlung im Rahmen einer kompetenzorientierten Hochschullehre
• Bereitschaft zur fachlichen und hochschuldidaktischen Weiterbildung

The Chair of Church Law and the History of Church Law at the KU Faculty of Theology invites applications for a part-time position (75%) as

research associate (Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter (m/w/d))

to be filled by September 01, 2026, with an initial contract duration of 3 years. (with possibility for extension). The place of work shall be Eichstätt. The successful candidate will be employed in a private-law employment relationship, in which case remuneration will be according to pay grade E 13 TV-L provided that the requirements are met.

The successful candidate may also pursue doctoral research as part of their work if desired; the University is particularly interested in receiving applications from candidates who wish to make use of this opportunity.

Your tasks

• Contributions to research, particularly in the areas of canon law governing mission and sanctions, religious order law, and ecclesiastical higher education law
• Teaching responsibilities (teaching load of 3.75 course hours (LVS)) in the Magister Theologiae program as well as in other programs that include courses in canon law and the history of church law
• Assistance with the Chair’s organizational and examination duties, as well as support for conferences, field trips, and publications

Your profile

• A completed university degree in Catholic Theology (Magister Theologiae or equivalent), ideally supplemented by a licentiate in canon law
• Proficiency in Latin and English is required; knowledge of other foreign languages is preferred
• An interest in issues related to church law and the history of church law, as well as in teaching these subjects in a contemporary manner within the context of a skills-based university curriculum
• Willingness to pursue professional and pedagogical development
