The Leibniz Institute for Financial Research SAFE – Sustainable Architecture for Finance in Europe – based in Frankfurt am Main promotes research and independent policy advice on all aspects dealing with the structure and functioning of the financial system. It is committed to contributing to the strengthening of a sustainable and resilient financial architecture that promotes innovation and serves the needs of the economy and society. Researchers from the fields of economics, law, and political science collaborate at SAFE.

Your profile:

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Finance or in Economics or a closely related area with a Finance focus by the time of appointment or shortly thereafter. We expect a research interest either in Financial Intermediation or in Household Finance.

We welcome applications from candidates who maintain active scholarship in the respective field, show a strong research potential, and the commitment to contribute to the activities of the Institute.

We offer the infrastructure of a modern research institute with excellent contacts to the scientific and financial community. You will be working in a very attractive working environment in the House of Finance at Goethe University and with an enthusiastic team of colleagues. Compensation will be 100% of a full-time position in accordance with the standards of the public services wage agreement of the State of Hesse (TV-H E 13).

The position is limited to two years with the option of a one-year extension. There is no teaching load assigned to this position, but involvement in the teaching of Goethe University Frankfurt’s bachelor, master, and/or Ph.D. programs is possible.
