About us:

Our research unit focuses on teachers’ and learners’ emotions and motivation. The offered position is located within the DFG-funded ‘Simulation-based learning in higher educa-tion: Advancing research on process diagnostics and personalized interventions’ contributes to theory-building on personalizing learning using simulations in higher edu-cation. As a joint research context, SHARP focuses on diagnosing and intervening as two highly relevant profes-sional practices in many academic professions.
The subproject targets pre-service teachers’ skills in identify-ing emotionally and motivationally critical classroom situa-tions through video-based simulation. The position is located at the Department of Psychology, Research Unit Educational Psychology and Learning Sciences (Prof. Anne Frenzel), in collaboration with the Research unit Formal and Informal Learning (Prof. Doris Lewalter) at TUM.

We are looking for you:

Research Associate (m/f/x)

in Munich

Your tasks and responsibilities:

  • planning, preparing, and conducting empirical studies (online and in the laboratory FEEL)
  • analyzing data
  • leading and contributing to joint scientific publications and conference papers
  • contributing to the application for the next funding phase.

Your qualifications:

  • You have a PhD degree in the field of (educational) psychology, educational science, or learning sciences, or an outstanding Master’s Degree and well-fitting prior experiences.
  • You are interested in interdisciplinary collaboration and working in research teams.
  • You have very good knowledge of social science research methods and statistics.
  • You have experiences in planning and conducting empirical studies.
  • Experiences with psycho-physiological measures and/or generative AI open-ended answer coding are an advantage.
  • You have very good German and written and spoken English skills.
