The Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research in Stuttgart, Germany, is one of the world’s leading institutes in condensed matter research. The institute includes cutting-edge research projects on quantum materials, nanoscale science, and energy research and provides access to internationally unique research infrastructure. Our Graduate School supports young scientists at the institute.

We are seeking an

Assistant (f/m/div) (50 - 75%) for our Graduate School

Ihr Aufgabengebiet:

· Administrative support for the coordinator of the IMPRS-CMS: daily email correspondence in English and German, creating certificates, maintaining the database and alumni network

· Support for the enrolment of PhD students at the University of Stuttgart

· Support for the online application procedure for Master and PhD students

· Administrative organization of events, such as the annual Retreat meeting and Summer/Winter schools

· Link to the institute’s administration: travel costs, invoices, refunds, inventory, etc.

Ihr Profil:

· Professional commercial training (e.g. Kaufmann/-frau - Büromanagement (w/m/d)) or a related Bachelor’s degree

· Excellent command of written and spoken English and German

· Proficiency in standard software (MS Office)

· Open-mindedness; you should enjoy working in an international scientific environment

· Good organizational skills

· Ability to work independently as well as in a team

The contract duration is two years initially.

Remuneration is based on the collective wage agreement of the public service (TVöD-Bund). In addition, the usual public service benefits are provided. We place great emphasis on balancing work and family.
