As a Platform Engineer, you will design and build the cloud infrastructure that powers our SAP integrations, e-commerce platforms, and business-critical applications. From Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code to self-service platform capabilities and operational excellence, you will help create a secure, scalable, and developer-friendly platform that enables engineering teams to move faster. At least 4 years of hands-on experience in Cloud Data Engineering with a focus on data integration and building modern data pipelines.
Deep technical expertise in the Google Cloud Data Stack (BigQuery, Dataflow, Managed Airflow, Dataplex, Pub/Sub, Cloud DLP) or comparable solid experience on AWS/Azure.
Proven track record in implementing and automating stable Lakehouse pipelines with consistent use of Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform), modern data transformation frameworks (e.g., dbt Core), and CI/CD practices.
Solid knowledge of integrating hybrid data landscapes and diverse source systems, including SAP systems (S/4HANA, CDC, ODP/CDS) as well as high-volume streaming workloads.
Practical experience in implementing modern governance solutions (e.g., Collibra) as well as robust security and compliance standards (e.g., VPC Service Controls, Policy Tags, GoBD).
Strong focus on the continuous assurance of system stability, scalability, and high data quality.
Confident handling of agile ways of working as well as professional development standards, and the willingness to actively share and exemplify these technical best practices within the team.
Business-fluent English and very good German or Romanian language skills.

Take technical ownership of connecting diverse source systems and build a reliable foundation for our data products through stable data pipelines.
Design and implement robust ingestion patterns – from batch processing to high-volume streaming – while connecting complex data sources and continuously optimizing pipeline performance.
Transform and process raw data across different data zones into harmonized, high-performance data products.
Ensure technical excellence and stable pipeline operations, with a strong focus on availability, security, scalability, and cost efficiency.
Work closely with the Lead Data Platform Engineer to establish modern development standards and support Data Engineers in the new Data Platform Team across Bucharest and Ulm as a technical mentor.
Partner with colleagues from the business departments to develop data products that solve real business problems.
Drive the cultural shift from traditional DWH structures towards agile, domain-oriented data product teams built on a strong, centrally provided platform.
