The Ludwigsburg University of Education is one of six universities of education in Baden-Württemberg with around 6,000 students and over 470 employees. Universities of education are equivalent to universities with the right to award doctorates and habilitations and focus on educational science issues in research and teaching. Internationalization is a central theme at the Ludwigsburg University of Education.
In addition, the official conditions of employment and service tasks specified in sections 46 and 47 of the Landeshochschulgesetz apply in their currently valid version. According to Section 47 (3) sentence 1 LHG, as a rule, only those who can demonstrate three years of school experience should be appointed to a position whose job description includes performing educational science or subject-specific teaching tasks in teacher training.
