The Faculty of Management and Economics, research area Center for Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Transformation (CEIT), at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum invites applications for the position of a Professor W3 (m/f/d) in****transformation and innovation management commencing April 1, 2026.

The holder of the position will represent the subject of

transformation and innovation management

in research and teaching.

We are looking for a person who is active in research and teaching at the intersection of organizational change (transformation) and the development and implementation of new ideas (innovation). The aim is to expand the CEIT's range of expertise to include the areas of transformation and innovation in business administration, complementing the existing professorships focusing on entrepreneurship, change management, and economic transformation. There are also very strong links to the Center for Environmental Management, Resources and Energy (CURE), particularly with regard to designing and implementing sustainability transformations in business and society.

Furthermore, the professorship should contribute significantly to expanding and securing teaching, research and continuing education activities in the field of transformation and innovation management, as well as strengthening cooperation at the UA Ruhr level. A strong focus on transfer and cooperation with actors in the local innovation ecosystem is also expected.

Requirements

Positive evaluation as a junior professor, habilitation or equivalent academic achievement and evidence of special aptitude are just as much required as the willingness to participate in the self-governing bodies of the Ruhr-Universität Bochum and to generally get involved in university processes according to Ruhr-Universität Bochum’s mission statement. The candidate has to meet the appointment requirements according to section 36 ff. Hochschulgesetz NW.

We expect furthermore:

  • strong commitment to teaching;
  • readiness to participate in interdisciplinary research;
  • willingness and proven ability to attract significant third-party funded research projects;
  • internationally recognized scientific publications relevant to the topic.
