HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER IN MUSKEGON, MI

Job Overview

Leads and oversees all Human Resources functions for U.S. plant operations, ensuring operational HR excellence, workforce stability, and legal compliance, while acting as a strategic business partner to plant leadership.

essential Function:

HR Operations Leadership
  • Lead end-to-end HR service delivery across assigned U.S. plant(s)
  • Ensure execution excellence in workforce administration, payroll coordination, benefits administration, and HR systems accuracy
  • Standardize HR processes aligned with NA and Corporate HR
Strategic Business Partnership
  • Partner with plant leadership on workforce strategies
  • Support organizational design and workforce planning
  • Analyze workforce trends (turnover, absenteeism, productivity)
Employee Relations & Performance Management
  • Manage investigations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions
  • Oversee performance management processes
  • Ensure policy consistency and risk mitigation
Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. employment laws (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEOC, OSHA)
  • Maintain audit readiness and documentation
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
  • Partner with NA Talent Acquisition for hiring strategies
  • Support onboarding and retention initiatives
Team Leadership
  • Manage HR Business Partner and HR Coordinator
  • Develop team capabilities and performance
Safety & EHS Collaboration
  • Partner with EHS to support safety programs and compliance
  • Participate in incident investigations and corrective actions
Continuous Improvement
  • Drive HR process improvements and support operational efficiency

Job requirements:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field required
  • HR certification preferred

Experience

  • 7–10+ years HR experience
  • 3–5+ years in manufacturing HR leadership

Skills

  • Knowledge of U.S. labor laws
  • HRIS experience
  • Data analytics and reporting

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing environment
  • Fast-paced with shop floor presence
  • Infrequent travel required
