Position profile

Applicants are expected to represent teaching, research, and service in the fields of epidemiology and biometry, specifically within the context of veterinary medicine and biology.

As regards research, the successful candidate is expected to devote themselves to independent contributions in interdisciplinary epidemiological studies, with a particular emphasis on animal health and One Welfare. In particular, the successful candidate is expected to teach compulsory epidemiological and biometric subjects in veterinary medicine and biology at TiHo and in joint degree programs with other universities in Hannover.

In the area of service, biometric consulting should be provided, thereby complementing other data science consulting services (such as research data management and artificial intelligence) of the Center for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence at TiHo.

Requirements

An international research profile with several years of experience as demonstrated by excellent publications and independent acquisition of third-party funding in the field of epidemiology and biometrics with applications in veterinary medicine and biology is required. Additionally, experience with (inter-)national collaborations as well as with respectful and collaborative leadership and management skills are expected.

Further requirements include

  • a completed degree in a natural science, veterinary or human medicine,
  • as well as pedagogical aptitude and teaching experience,
  • a doctoral degree, habilitation, or equivalent scientific achievements.

Existing evidence of courses in university didactics and results of teaching evaluations should be submitted with the application. Further requirements for employment are regulated in § 25 of the Lower Saxony Higher Education Act (NHG).
