The Institute of Computer Science of Faculty 4 - Mathematics, Natural Sciences, Economics and Computer Science – currently offers a position as

Research Assistant (m/f/d) in the area of Generative AI for Software Engineering (TV-L E 13, 100%)

initially for three years.

Are you enthusiastic about the prospects of using generative AI for software engineering? Would you like to contribute with your research to making the development of complex systems easier and leading to fewer errors?
The Software Systems Engineering department works on modern software engineering methods. Our research takes place in a variety of projects in cooperation with well-known research and corporate partners.
The main focus of the position is in the area of research. In addition, teaching duties of 4 teaching hours per week are part of the position.

Tasks:

  • Scientific work on supporting software development using techniques based on generative AI
  • Evaluation of the corresponding concepts in the development of prototypes
  • Empirical work as part of scientific studies
  • Publication of research and development results at conferences and in journals
  • Doctoral studies are possible as part of the work and will be supported
  • Teaching (4 hours/week) & supervision of student work
  • Participation in the organizational tasks of the research group

Requirements:

  • Good or very good university degree (Master's or equivalent), preferably in computer science or in a study program with strong relation to computer science/AI, e.g., information systems, data analytics, information technology.
  • Interest in research / doctoral studies
  • Good written and spoken English sills
  • Software Engineering Knowledge and / or AI-knowledge in the area of Large-Language-Models (please specify in the application)
  • Efficient, solution-oriented, reliable, careful and structured way of working
  • Commitment, flexibility and ability to work under pressure
  • Strong ability to work independently
  • Teamwork and communication skills

Desirable:

  • German language skills, both written and spoken
  • Knowledge of / experience in the application of Generative AI approaches to Software Engineering Problems
