The Institute for Software and Systems Engineering (ISSE) at Clausthal University of Technology is building a new team in the field of the digitized circular economy as part of various research projects. This team will be part of the Digitized Green Tech research group based at ISSE and will focus on the design and development of digital solutions and approaches for a sustainable future. A more detailed description of the group’s individual research priorities can be found here on our website:
Our excellent network on international and national basis offers a perfect start for a scientific or industrial career!
The focus of our work is on connecting various stakeholders in the circular economy, particularly in the areas of reuse, repair, remanufacturing, and recycling. The goal is to research platform systems with AI-based agents where, on the one hand, products and components can be listed and, on the other hand, matched with incoming requests from various stakeholders. To this end, digital systems are to be developed that provide AI-supported tools to identify suitable buyers and optimize utilization decisions throughout the product lifecycle. The goal is to create a PULL logistics system in which the incentive to reuse products and components is not created by the current owners, but rather the pull is generated by the reusers who need a product or component. Various machine learning approaches will be employed for this purpose.
