The Faculty of Science of the Clausthal University of Technology is seeking to appoint the position of
at the Institute of Mathematics as soon as possible.
The recruitment requirements are based on § 25 of the Lower Saxony Higher Education Act (Niedersächsisches Hochschulgesetz NHG).
The research of the candidate should focus on the development and analysis of mathematical models, including partial differential equations. It should also address the well-posedness and stability of models. Experience in applications from natural sciences and engineering is desirable.
We are looking for internationally renowned persons with a research area that complements the research conducted at the Institute of Mathematics. The successful candidate should actively participate in the further development of the research profile of the institute and the design of the degree program "Applied Mathematics". He or she should have a pronounced affinity towards interdisciplinary work and application-oriented topics and should fit in with the main research areas of TU Clausthal in terms of his/her possible working areas.
The candidate is expected to contribute to the degree program “Applied Mathematics”, by taking re-sponsibilities for basic mathematical education, teaching at masters level (e.g. in functional or complex analysis, or partial differential equations), as well as to courses as service for other disciplines.
Applicants are expected to be willing to participate in coordinated interdisciplinary programmes.
