Researcher and Scientific Coordinator (m/f/d)

The Research Training Group CAUSE looks for a scientific coordinator. Jointly, Hamburg University of Technology, University of Bremen and Carl-von-Ossietzky-University of Oldenburg work in CAUSE. The Coordination Office is located at TU Hamburg.

The acronym CAUSE stands for Concepts and Algorithms for - and Use of - Self-Explaining Digitally Controlled Systems. Thematically, CAUSE covers all levels of digital systems, from system-of-systems over software stacks to digital hardware. PhD students in CAUSE cooperate closely to investigate cross-level aspects of self-explanation, using a virtual wind farm as a demonstrator.

YOUR TASKS

The tasks of the position are support in organizing the research training group from a scientific point:

  • coordinating work related to the demonstrator
  • synchronizing the participating research teams with respect to underlying theory for self-explanation
  • supporting the organization of the scientific and educational program of the research training group

YOUR PROFILE

Requirements

  • Scientific university degree in the subject Embedded Systems and completed doctorate in said field

You may also apply if you do not meet the mandatory requirements but have a university degree in the field of Embedded Systems and relevant knowledge and skills in embedded programming and FPGA implementation.
Candidates demonstrating all essential skills will be classified based on ther specific qualification.

Desired knowledge and personal skills

  • Very good programming skills, including embedded programming, contribution to open source projects and communities, experience with development flows
  • Experience in hardware design, specifically in FPGA implementations, diagnosis and aging profiling for hardware
  • Tack record of scientific publications related to the above areas and experience with open access publishing
  • Experience with web, design, installation and management of servers and infrastructure
  • Experience with structured education, e.g., in a research training group
