The Institute of Technical Logistics (ITL) at Hamburg University of Technology is researching what the logistics systems of the future will look like – from autonomous transport systems and intelligent warehouse technology to sustainable production processes. Our team combines engineering, digitalization, and innovation—in a practical, creative way and with a great deal of enthusiasm for technology. To strengthen our team, we are looking for a communicative and organized personality to join us on May 1, 2026, who will complement our team as a as a researcher in the field of robotics and human-machine-interaction.
YOUR TASKS
- Research in the field of mobile robotics and human-machine-interaction
- Conception and implementation of demonstrators (mobile robots/ manipulation/ humanoid robots)
- Development, training and deployment of AI-models for control, perception and navigation in robotics
- Coordination, consultation and project acquisition with project partners and student assistants
- Publication of research results in scientific journals and at conferences together with project partners
YOUR PROFILE
Requirements
- Completed scientific university studies, in particular in the subject Mechatronics, Media, Informatics or Industrial Engineering
Desired knowledge and personal skills
- Expertise in the development and use of mobile robots, particularly in the areas of localization, navigation, and mapping
- Programming skills in Python and ROS2 (Robot Operating System) and knowledge of the programming language C++ and ROS2
- Problem-solving skills and creativity
- Systematic, communicative and reliable way of working
