PhD position on Yield Stability in Nutritional Crop Physiology within the GreenRobust Cluster of Excellence (f/m/d)

Ernährungsphysiologie der Kulturpflanzen

Code: 2026/144

Application deadline: 2026-11-30

In a long term field trial at the University of Hohenheim effects of weather and weather extremes (complex abiotic stress combinations) on yield and yield stability are investigated. Firstly, long term weather data are used to identify major drivers in the system. Secondly, insensitive phases and during and after weather extremes plant samples are taken and analytically analyzed at molecular and cellular level. You will identify major molecular and mechanistic targets of weather extremes and their relation to fertilization on yield. Crops will also be grown on similar extreme weather conditions of abiotic stress combinations (not single stress) in the greenhouse, to estimate whether these extremes in the field are well represented in greenhouse trials.

Start 01.01.2027

Remuneration up to E13 TV-L

Scope 65 %

Duration valid until 31.12.2029

Location Stuttgart-Hohenheim
