The Institute of Sport and Sport Science (IfSS) at the Faculty of Social Sciences is seeking highly qualified candidates for the following position to be filled at the earliest possible date:

Professorship (W2) for Sport Pedagogy and Sport Didactics (m/f/d)

We are looking for a personality who represents the field of sport pedagogy and sport didactics in its entire breadth in research and teaching. The focus of the professorship is on teacher training at the Institute of Sport and Sport Science (IfSS). Therefore, applicants should be experienced in research and teaching in relation to the field of school.

Prerequisites are:

  • a university degree in sports science (preferably in teacher training)
  • a subject-related PhD and a habilitation (or habilitation-equivalent achievements)
  • relevant publications in the field of sport pedagogy and sport didactics
  • profound knowledge in methods of empirical educational research
  • pedagogical aptitude, proven by relevant teaching experience

In addition, a research focus in the area of the cross-cutting themes (Querschnittsthemen) specified in the Hessian Teacher Education Act (HLbG) is expected. One research focus should address issues of the transfer of knowledge and thus align with the orientation of the Transfer and Application Center Sport in Kassel (task).

Furthermore, a willingness to engage in interdisciplinary cooperation within and beyond the university is expected. Experience in the acquisition of external funding is desired.

Prerequisites:

The employment and performance requirements apply pursuant to §§ 67 and 68 of the Higher Education Act of Hesse (HessHG). Pursuant to § 68(4), a post whose job description provides for the performance of school pedagogical, subject didactic or educational science tasks in teacher training should only be held by those who can prove that they have completed three years of school practice after completing their training. If the candidate has not worked as a teacher in schools, he/she should describe how he/she has been involved in school practice (school-related research projects, supervision of school placements, etc.).
