The position is offered for a period of 2 years, if no former times of qualification must be considered, with the option to extend for an additional two years. The starting date is 1 October 2026. The position is fulltime with salary and benefits commensurate with a public service position in the state Hesse, Germany (TV-H E 14).
The Research Training Group comprises eleven subprojects at Philipps University in Marburg and analyzes the functions and metabolism of nucleotides and related topics in various microbial species. The Research Training Group offers a wide range of opportunities for scientific exchange and professional development in an interdisciplinary environment through annual symposia, workshops, and retreats, as well as monthly seminars. The research group is expected to work independently on a current research topic related to nucleotides. To this end, an additional doctoral position (65% TV-H E13, 3 years) and a budget for consumables will be provided, as well as access to laboratories and offices equipped with modern laboratory equipment. The research group is intended to complement the “MiNu” consortium and will receive support in establishing its own research topic and in all other matters related to the transition to scientific independence.
The position will be filled by a temporary contract that is limited to the period which is necessary to gain further scientific expertise (such as the preparation for a subsequent qualification period). Within the entrusted tasks the opportunity for independent scientific work to obtain further personal qualification is given. The limitation complies with Section 2(1) of the German Academic Fixed-Term Contract Act (WissZeitVG).
