The Institute of Organic Chemistry in the Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy at the University of Münster, Germany, is seeking to fill the position of a

Doctoral Research Associate (Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiterin, salary level E 13 TV-L)

commencing on 1 September 2026. We are offering a fixed-term part-time position (50 %) for 3 years. Full time employees are required to teach 4 hours per week during the semester.

Your tasks:

  • This position is tied to working towards a doctorate
  • Collaboration in research and teaching
  • Imparting specialist knowledge to students and instruction in the application of scientific methods
  • Carrying out independent research
  • Collaboration in the infrastructure of the Studer working group

Our expectations:

  • An above-average university degree (master's/diploma/state examination) in chemistry.
  • Good command of written and spoken English is required.
  • Experience and knowledge
  • in research in the field of organic chemistry
  • in standard analytical methods (e.g., NMR, HPLC, GC-MS, IR)
  • in standard laboratory techniques (e.g., working under protective gas)

is required.

  • Theoretical and practical experience
  • in the allylation of arenes
  • in total synthesis of natural products
  • in the field of photocatalysis
  • in the reductive desulphonylation

is required.
