The Institute of Computer Science in the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Münster, Germany, is seeking to fill the position of a

Doctoral Research Associate (Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiterin, salary level E 13 TV-L)

commencing on 1 October 2026. We are offering a fixed-term full-time position for 3 years. Full-time employees are required to teach 4 hours per week during the semester.

Your tasks:

  • collaboration in research and teaching
  • providing students with subject-related expertise and instruction on applying scientific methods
  • This position is tied to working towards a doctorate

Our expectations:

  • A graduate degree in computer science (i.e. German Diplom and / or master’s degree) is required.
  • Background in automated deductive program verification is required.
  • Background in mathematical logic and model checking is required.
  • Excellent written and spoken English is required.
  • Background in combinatorial optimization is desirable.
  • Teaching experience is desirable.
  • Programming experience in Rust is desirable.
