TheCenter for Business Transformation (ChanCe) at the School of Business and Economics (SBE) of the University of Münster seeks to fill the following position by 1 April 2027 or later:
**Subject of the professorship:**The professorship addresses the fundamental question of how technological and societal change affects work, employees, companies and models of value generation (business models). Furthermore, consideration is given to the consequences of these developments and changing social values on responsible economic behaviour in and by companies. The professorship investigates how the interactions between businesses, society, technology and institutions have changed and will change, and how these changes affect the organisation and management of work and employees. The professorship considers the various stakeholders and institutions of modern societies with respect to their contributions to the functioning of companies and society from the perspective of radical change in the business world. **Thematic focus:**We expect the future appointee to represent the professorship with a clear research focus on business in times of radical socio-technological change. This focus must be substantiated by prior relevant research. In particular, the candidate should focus on radical change taking place in firms and other organisations from an internal perspective, e.g. with regard to the transformation of work, collaboration, leadership, human resources, responsibility and organisational structures. The research should be situated in such fields as human resource management, personnel economics, organisation, corporate social responsibility or leadership. The professorship is affiliated with the Center for Business Transformation and must represent the field of business administration.
Research excellence: Candidates must have an outstanding academic record in the subject area of the professorship, demonstrated by relevant publications in internationally renowned journals [UT Dallas ranking or Financial Times Top 50 Journals]. We expect the candidate to actively participate in an international research network. Experience in securing competitive external funding is desired.
**Methodological expertise:**Candidates should conduct theoretically substantiated quantitative empirical research. Candidates are free to conduct interdisciplinary research and utilise a variety of methodological approaches.
**Integrability:**Candidates should actively contribute to the research initiatives of the Center for Business Transformation and engage in further shaping the SBE’s profile area (“Economy in times of radical societal-technological change”). Candidates should collaborate with other departments at the SBE and with other faculties of the University of Münster. Teaching excellence: Candidates should be committed to high-quality teaching, be pedagogically competent and have experience with digital teaching methods. The ability and willingness to teach courses in English in the bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programmes are required.
Commitment to academic administrative duties and community: Candidates should demonstrate willingness to conduct academic administrative duties and, beyond that, assume a leading role within the academic community (for example, by participating on editorial boards of leading journals).
Knowledge transfer: Candidates should demonstrate the ability and commitment to engage in the public dissemination of their research findings, thereby serving to enrich societal discourse.
**Prerequisites:**Candidates must have successfully completed a relevant university degree and hold a doctoral degree. Furthermore, candidates should possess additional academic achievements, obtained through an assistant professorship (Juniorprofessur), habilitation (postdoctoral qualification), as a member of the academic staff of a university or non-university research institute, or in a research position in business, industry, administration or other relevant fields in Germany or abroad.
