The Faculty of Catholic Theology (FB 02) of the University of Münster seeks to fill the following position at the earliest possible date:

Professorship (W3) in Dogmatics and History of Dogmatics

zu besetzen.

The prospective appointee will represent the entire spectrum of research and teaching activities in the subject of dogmatics and the history of dogmatics at the Faculty of Catholic Theology (FB 02). Moreover, the candidate will be responsible for providing instruction in all subject-relevant degree programmes offered by the faculty in all phases of study, as well as carrying out academic administrative duties. The candidate should possess outstanding achievement in research and teaching and demonstrate willingness to participate constructively in the academic discourse and collaborative research and teaching projects of the Faculty of Catholic Theology and the University of Münster. The professorship entails participation in the executive board of the Institute for Multidisciplinary Research on Religion.

To be considered for this position, the candidate must hold a higher education degree in Catholic theology, meet the corresponding canonical requirements, hold a doctoral degree in Catholic theology, and possess competence in university didactics. Furthermore, the candidate must have extensive academic experience in the area of dogmatics and the history of dogmatics, obtained through an assistant professorship (Juniorprofessur), habilitation (postdoctoral qualification), as a member of the academic staff of a university or non-university research institute, or in a research position in business, industry, administration or other relevant field in Germany or abroad. A focus on ecumenical theology, experience with externally funded projects and an (international) network of academic contacts are desired.
