The Professorship of Sustainable Finance at the Finance Center Münster (FCM), University of Münster, to commence on 1 November 2026, invites applications for a:
Research Associate (E13 TV-L)
**The position is initially offered on a fixed-term basis for 3 years, with the possibility of extension within the framework of a doctoral (PhD) programme.
At the Professorship of Sustainable Finance, our research focuses on socially responsible investment decisions and the performance and financing of sustainable businesses. We investigate key research questions in these areas using both empirical and experimental methods. We aim to present our findings at leading international conferences and publish them in prestigious peer-reviewed academic journals.**
Your tasks:
- A cumulative PhD on empirical or experimental research questions in Sustainable Finance
- Involvement in the presentation and publication of research findings.
- Participate in teaching (teaching load of 3 SWS) and supervise Bachelor’s and Master’s theses
- Assist with the organisation and administration of the chair
Our expectations:
- Academic qualifications: An above average Master’s degree with a specialisation in Finance, Economics, (Business) Mathematics, Business Information Systems, Econometrics, or a related field.
- Methodological skills: Strong knowledge of quantitative methods and confident use of common statistical software (e.g., R, Stata, SAS).
- Personal attributes: Teamwork and communication skills, initiative, and enthusiasm for Sustainable Finance.
- Language skills: Very good written and spoken German and English
