The ZEW – Leibniz Centre for European Economic Research in Mannheim, Germany, is one of the leading economic research institutes in Europe. The ZEW is a non-profit organization and works in the field of frontier empirical economic research and high-level policy advice. It is integrated into an extensive national and international network of universities and research institutes. The ZEW is looking to fill the following position in the Research Unit "Health Care Markets and Health Policy"
We are looking for an applied economist with a strong research profile in empirical health economics. The successful candidate will contribute to the unit’s research agenda on the digital transformation of health care, with a particular focus on market structures, reimbursement systems, and the economics of health care data.
Your Profile
• A completed PhD (or near completion) in economics
• Excellent skills in quantitative evaluation methods e.g. quasi-experimental methods for administrative data
• Fluency in English is required; command of German is not necessary but helpful
Your Responsibilities
• Conducting high-quality empirical research in health economics targeting publications in leading economic journals
• Communicating scientific findings to the public, stakeholders, and policymakers
• Conceptualizing and managing third-party funded research projects
